Head Coach

Coach C. Danner has been coaching track and field since 1973 where he started his coaching career at Fithian Oakwood.  He moved to Metamora and coached the boys team form 1974-1979.  He then coached at Metamora St. Mary's from 1980-83 before returning as the head boys coach at MTHS in 1984.  He is starting his 46th year as a track coach, 40 of which have been at MTHS.  Mr. Danner was a high school track athlete at Home High School and then a collegiate track athlete at Illinois State University.  In the 35 years of the Mid-Illini conference MTHS has won 18 titles under Coach Danner.  Coach Danner has coached 22 individual all-state athletes and 4 all-state relays.  He has also had state champions in 3 events as head coach- Mark Scheirer (3200 in 1988) and Jake Gillum (800 and 1600 in 2017).  He has had numerous state qualifiers over the years as well as many collegiate athletes and All-Americans.  Mr. Danner runs the boys program and would be happy to answer any questions you may have about the boys track team.  You may contact him at cdanner@mths.us.
