New School Record- 1600 Meter Run

Congratulations to Jake who broke a 29 year old school record in the 1600. Jake ran a 4:16.25 to establish the new mark. This was particularly impressive after running a 1:55 split in the 4x800 relay. The previous school record was held by MTHS track legend Mark Scheirer with a time of 4:16.9 in 1988. Scheirer won the 2A state meet that year in the 3200 meter run. In addition Jake broke the meet record which was held by another MTHS great- John Weigel. Way to go Jake!
